TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2020 (MIAMI, FL): Makers of the “fastest, driest and most comfortable open fishermen ever,” Invincible Boats unveiled its newest model at the 2020 Progressive Miami International Boat Show: the 46’ Catamaran. In research and development for more than a year, the new flagship model is the largest ever built by the Opa-Locka based manufacturer and is currently available for pre-order. Hull number one is expected to be operational by late spring.
“Our new 46 marks our fourth catamaran model since entering the market in 2017,” Dorton said. “Given our history of commitment to producing superior hull designs, there is no doubt that we are fully invested in the segment.”
Each catamaran model utilises the patented hybrid semi-asymmetrical design created by Morrelli & Melvin exclusively for Invincible. Based in Newport Beach, California, Morelli & Melvin is the leading authority in multihull designs given their extensive involvement in America’s Cup and Olympic competition. Their decades of competitive experience and investment in computational fluid dynamics results in the trademark qualities of Invincible’s catamarans: a boat that does not lean outward in a turn and can handle all conditions without the assistance of negative trim nor ballast.
The biggest boat in Invincible’s history comes with unprecedented levels of fishability and performance, with a 1,000-gallon fuel capacity and more than 1,000 gallons of fish box storage. The new flagship model also comes in synchronization with the new flagship building: the 50,000 square-foot factory expansion including an in-house design centre announced last summer.
“As we continue to establish our leadership in the premium performance sportfishing market, we’re excited to expand our domain with larger models,” Dorton said. “This is only the beginning of what we have planned and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”
