A serious superyacht tender with performance, range and a remarkable pedigree, Buckle Up is a proven 12.5 m offshore RIB built to handle demanding conditions and long-distance passages.
Originally purpose-built for the Trans-Tasman Challenge, she holds the record for the fastest crossing from Sydney Harbour Bridge to Auckland Harbour Bridge at just 40 hours, as well as a New Zealand circumnavigation record of 67 hours. Since then, she has operated in commercial survey and supported major events including the America’s Cup, SailGP and film productions.
Powered by twin Volvo D6 diesel engines with stern drives, Buckle Up cruises comfortably at 36 knots and reaches approximately 42 knots. A substantial 4,000-litre fuel capacity gives her excellent range, making her particularly well suited as a fast, capable superyacht tender, chase boat or adventure support vessel.
A recent major drivetrain refurbishment saw both engines and stern drives removed, serviced and reinstalled by authorised Volvo specialists, with approximately $90,000 invested and full service documentation available.
Her specification includes twin Simrad chartplotters, 72 nm radar, autopilot, hydraulic steering, trim tabs, fire suppression and comprehensive bilge systems. Below deck are two berths, an enclosed electric toilet, inverter-powered galley and generous storage, providing useful accommodation for extended trips.
With 1,800 engine hours, proven commercial credentials and significant recent mechanical investment, Buckle Up offers an unusual combination of speed, range, practicality and offshore capability.
